Elf Girl Summer: let’s talk about SHUFFLE!

I’ve wanted to play this since I was 14, because my idol Konata had a poster of it in her room(and now so do I!). Right off the bat, it’s got a really nice, colorful, summery atmosphere, super warm and bright, the kind of thing that just cheers you up instantly.

For the routes I went Kaede → Nerine → Shigure→ Primula→Sia, which is not a bad order, I think.

Kaede kinda suffers from having the least going on by far but that’s kind of the curse of a childhood friend I suppose. I loved Nerine, she was the prettiest and her ears are so big…! I liked Shigure’s route more than I expected (and the fact that her VA is the same as Fuji-nee’s was doing Things to me). As for Primula…well, her backstory is good, I guess. Now, as I said my favorite was Nerine but I only really understood why anyone liked this game at all on Sia’s (and Kikyou’s) route, which was the last I played. The theme is quite near and dear to my heart and I think it was done pretty well.

The steam version had two extra routes but that’s not the one I played so I can’t comment on it.

I don’t remember thinking much in particular of the h-scenes (other than feeling like I was going to get a nosebleed at several points in Nerine’s route, but that's kind of unrelated)

Also, Sia and Nerine’s dads were pretty fun. I liked to imagine that they would hear me calling them king uke and king seme through the screen and then have the protagonist beheaded or something.

Anyway, this VN is fun for what it is, that being, 2000’s galge. I do think it’s kinda mid overall but that doesn't matter because look at these cgs. The lighting. The vibe. It’s so good.

It's worth it for them alone.
