Merry Christmas!

25/12/2025

Where I live, we celebrate Christmas on the 24th, and don't have much to do on the 25th itself. It’s a bit like Toy Day in Animal Crossing. I wonder why we do it that way… Anyways, that gives me time to blog a little!

I tested out some new recipes this year. First, these pfeffernüsse cookies (following Chef John’s recipe)

There were so many I couldn't close this cookie tin, but I forgot to take a picture before almost half of them got eaten…

I wasn't sure about the taste at first, but after about six of them, I decided that it was a success. My mom loved them, which made me quite happy.

I made the usual gingerbread too, but didn't get any pictures before they all got eaten…

I also made this bread wreath thingy (recipe here). I had been looking forward to making this since last month, and I'm quite proud of how it turned out!

It smells insanely good. Tasted real nice too!

One of my personal traditions is going to Google's Santa Tracker and playing the minigames that have remained unchanged since the first time I played them on the computer with my brother. These past few years, I only ever open the canvas minigame and then draw a little something. It's very fun. Another part of this tradition is that I'll press the wrong button trying to screenshot my finished drawing and lose it forever. After that I think “how can this possibly happen every single year” and start the drawing over. This year was no exception (-_-;)・・・

I have to admit that I always like the second drawing more than the first one, so maybe losing it is also important.

This year I drew Ciel and Sebastian ^_^

I always draw with the crayon brush for the ultimate “drawing my favorite character with the very limited color options of my crayon box” experience.

I watched the first two Knives Out movies with my family during the afternoon. We didn’t watch the third because it had gotten late and we had to like, celebrate Christmas or whatever…

Every year we order Christmas cake from a local baker. This year’s was a bit of a gag pick:

I love Nyanko-sensei so it was hard to stop myself from petting the cake.

I got a lovely doll as a gift, but I’ll talk about her in a separate blog post (after the batteries she needs to power her up arrive (ᵕ—ᴗ—) )
